The National Service Scheme was started in Shri. Dr. R. G. Rathod Arts and Science College, Murtizapur, Dist. Akola in 2008 which affiliated to Sant Gadge Baba Amravati University, Amravati.
The College has its own unit capacity of NSS volunteers. Our college is allowed to enroll 100 students (Boys-50 & Girls-50) in a unit and nearly 50 students participate in the special NSS camp. The NSS is a part of our academic, social and personal life as it is the third dimension of education. The students are always ready with an objective of shaping themselves and the society. It allows the students to actively contribute their services for the cause of community and the nation. The NSS is useful not only for the development of the student’s personality, but it also helps to promote the unity and integrity of the nation by bringing together young people from diverse geographical and social-cultural backgrounds. As such, the NSS is the right platform, where the student- youth of the nation may get to involve with real-life social activities, and thereby become responsible citizen of India.
